Between Baseball, Football, Basketball, and Hockey as team sports all vieing for attention there is really no room for soccer to grow. It will remain a niche sport in America, I mean Hockey which has a longer and more storied tradition in the USA is still and will probably remain #4 in the hearts and minds of most Americans. To answer your last statement there are better players out there but they generally turn to other sports (Baseball, Football etc) where they can advance further, and make a great living doing so.
i wonder how long its gonna take for soccer to become popular in the states? i cant watch an mls game. the red bulls have the worst record in the mls after goin to the mls cup last year and theres no comparison when u watch an epl game. i played professionally in the 1st division in poland for a team called cracovia krakow. it was an amazing experience and the soccer was amazing. its completely different over seas, soccer is life. unfortunately, u.s. doesnt give a +!#@ bout soccer. and our national team could be much better, i have to believe there are better players in the u.s. than the ones playin on the team. its all about who you know.

I like football. I don't really get how U.S. football got called football but oh well. Obviously when the World Cup arrives I'll be USA there but regular season my teams are Inter Milan (Serie A), Everton (EPL), and when I see them the Rangers (Scottish Premier League).
I'm extremely impressed with what Landon Donovan has accomplished in Everton. Anyone else want to see him stay? |

I am a fan of Real Madrid...it's religion in my family.
I am slowly beginning to watch MLS since the quality of play has improved in recent years. It's not just you - with better MLS, and the impact of the recent World Cup, I think soccer is getter bigger in America. I think it has a better following now than it did when i was a kid. |
